So the hotel is great Wonderful location. Renovations are so nice. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is always good. Rooms look great especially after renovations. Good value for money. What I didn’t like - Showers are hard to adjust temperature. Change temperature while using. - need smart tv. TVs there are so outdated. - need bigger breakfast room. - we had issues due to renovations. Like parking. Fitness room towels, water and dumbbells. Some noise- - We found a small spider in the couch. - beds meeds softer sheets.

We use IHG brand hotels as our primary brand and frequent Express hotels often. Some of the concerns of other reviews are true ….we did hear the highway all night - but expected and became white noise and property currently upgrading so I’m sure it was inconvenient for earlier visits. Overall this was one of the best properties. Room was spacious with lots of space for our family of 4. Recent upgrades are nice and some well-thought design aspects. Breakfast is as expected. Lots of free parking. Access to Santa Barbara at a reasonable price.

Just an hour and a half from the Los Angeles area, Carpinteria is a great weekend escape and the Holiday Inn Express offers the best deal in in town! I've have stayed in this property many times and it has always been a wonderful experience. Starting with a great location with plenty of free parking and in walking distance to the beach, bluff trails and restaurants. Additionally, other services such as markets, drugstore, ATM and laundromat are also available within walking distance in case you forgot something. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious, clean and they all have a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, although there is fresh coffee at the lobby all day long. The free breakfast is more than adequate and if, like me, you're not ready for breakfast before 9:30, you can take it to your room and warm it up later. I love this hotel and can't wait to return.

Great experience and excellent employees who are dedicated to making our stay a good one! Donovan at front desk provided a kind welcome from check in to check out! The staff ( especially Donovan and Sabrina at front desk)were responsive and friendly with every interaction. Housekeeping and their supervisor were so sweet and smiled and greeted me Daily! I will definitely be grateful for this experience as was unplanned due to home repair , they were excellent.

Check in was easy process. Rooms were clean and i appreciated that they had microwave and fridge in the room. Rooms were spacious enough. Breakfast had lot of options. Close to the freeway so easy to get around and convenient. My only suggestion is if you’re not traveling with little children do not come here, you’ll be woken up with toddlers being noisy and running in the hallway early morning. Walls are thin and you can hear the crying. Pool has lots of children and families. I have a toddler so I get it and don’t mind but if you’re single or business or trying to do things as a couple this place probably isn’t it otherwise would recommend

I recently stayed here and overall the property itself is beautiful, the pricing was great, and the staff was genuinely kind and helpful throughout my stay. That said, the cleanliness and comfort of the room were disappointing and unfortunately impacted the experience. When we arrived, the room did not appear thoroughly cleaned. There was used dental floss on the floor, the bathroom had visible staining, and there was tape sitting in the shower drain that looked dirty and slightly brown. The toilet also had stains, there were no tissues in the tissue box, and the toilet paper roll was already partially used with no replacement provided. The sofa mattress was also extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on. It felt very thin with almost no support, which left my back hurting the next morning. I also noticed staining on the lower part of the mattress. Thankfully I had my own disinfectant spray and cleaned several areas myself, but as a guest, that really shouldn’t be necessary. I do want to emphasize again that the staff was wonderful and the property itself has a lot of potential. I honestly wouldn’t mind staying here again because the location, appearance, and value were great — I would just hope for a much cleaner and more comfortable room experience next time.

IHG-property on the south side of Carpinteria, away from the main drag and associated traffic (both pedestrian and vehicular). IHG member status recognized and appropriate perks/upgrades offered based on availability. Pretty busy in the summer when Carpinteria is a major tourist destination for both evacuees from Los Angeles as well as folks from farther afield. Typical Holiday Inn rooms - comfortable with an economy of space and niceties. Blackout curtains, coffee/tea service in the room, armoire for hanging clothes, TV with local and some movie stations. Beds are comfortable with both firm and soft pillow options. Bathrooms are clean with an economical use of space that doesn't feel too cramped. Good water pressure and hot water. Breakfasts are complimentary and feature common HI favorites like made to order pancakes, biscuits in gravy, juices, coffee, tea, cold cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

A big thank you to Gilbert & Donovan for their great service assisting me with an early check-in. They set the tone for a great weekend stay. The housekeeping staff were very helpful. Our room was comfortable, featuring two queen beds and a sofa bed, which was perfect for our family stay.
